It all started in the Summer of 2017.&nbsp; Michelle was living in Dorchester, and Jonathan in Brighton. Little did they know that one ordinary Saturday night would change their lives forever.&nbsp; Michelle and her friend Erin headed to the Irish Village in Brighton, a spot they rarely visited. Brighton was not somewhere you would usually find these two ladies. Dorchester and Quincy were the girls' usual stomping grounds. Coincidently, Jonathan also ended up at the Irish Village with a friend. A bar that he usually never drank in.As fate would have it, Michelle and Jonathan started talking thanks to their mutual friends. The conversation flowed and soon the group made their way to the White Horse Tavern in Allston. Typical of these two never wanting the party to end! A few drinks later, Michelle and Jonathan parted ways, with Michelle rounding up Erin for an Uber home. No numbers were exchanged, just a nickname—“Pinto”. The next day while Michelle and Erin were sitting out in Canton drinking Magners and watching Gaelic football Michelle decided to play detective and find the boy with the nickname “Pinto” on Facebook.&nbsp;Michelle also knew one other detail about him and that was that he had red hair and she was debating if that was the life she was going to choose for herself. However Jonathan’s quick wit and kind heart quickly changed her opinion about red hair. While sitting at the Irish Cultural Center in Canton Michelle realized that she and Jonathan probably shared a mutual friend so she decided to search for him. Michelle being the detective that she is was able to find him so she quickly hit that add friend button. While Michelle and Erin were busy chatting and drinking she didn’t realize that Jonathan had sent her a message on Facebook. That was the beginning of the messages that were the length of paragraphs. The paragraphs were exchanged back and forth for months until they eventually exchanged phone numbers. Finally, Jonathan arranged a double date at Devlin’s. Michelle and Erin arrived on time. Jonathan and his friend? Two hours late—with two more friends in tow. After some well-deserved giving out, for being so late all was forgotten and an enjoyable night was had by all.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Since then Michelle and Joanthan have shared countless adventures. Their first trip was to New York City, and it quickly became one of their favorite places. So it was only fitting that Jonathan got down on one knee on the Brooklyn Bridge on September 16, 2019, with the Manhattan skyline behind them. Over the years they have traveled far and wide. They visited South Carolina, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Nashville, Delray Beach, Miami. Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, Clearwater, San Francisco, Chicago, New Jersey, New York. Of course they took it International as well to Ireland and Cancun, Mexico. Even with all of this traveling Jonathan and Michelle purchased their first home in Weymouth, Massachusetts. Finally the time has come for them to plan a wedding in her dad’s home place in the Lovely Leitrim. Michelle and Jonathan can’t wait to celebrate with all of their family and friends.&nbsp; &nbsp;

With a stunning, secluded setting on the shore of Lough Rynn, surrounded by over 300 acres of breathtaking scenery and ancient forests, this magnificent castle is now an elegant 4-star hotel. Overlooking the Shannon River this stylish 4-star hotel is in the beautiful riverside town of Carrick-on-Shannon. It offers guests free Wi-Fi free parking and the AA Rosette Boardwalk Cafe Bar. The spacious rooms at The Landmark Hotel boast beautiful views with free bottled water TVs and tea/coffee facilities. The atrium-style Aroma’s Café serves homemade pastries and afternoon tea while the contemporary Boardwalk Café Bar provides excellent lunch and evening menus. The hotel is located on the N4 highway 1 hour and 40 minutes from Dublin and 30 minutes from Sligo. There is a wide abundance of outdoor activities nearby for guests.

The Landmark Hotel

Offering a garden and garden view, Lough Rynn View Accommodation Accommodation - Room only is set in Mohill, 25 km from Sliabh an Iarainn Visitor Centre and 26 km from Carrick-on-Shannon Golf Club. This bed and breakfast provides free private parking and luggage storage space. The property is non-smoking and is located 20 km from Leitrim Design House. The bed and breakfast comes with a flat-screen TV. Towels and bed linen are provided in the bed and breakfast. Guests at the bed and breakfast will be able to enjoy activities in and around Mohill, like fishing. Guests can also relax in the shared lounge area. Clonalis House is 28 km from Lough Rynn View Accommodation Accommodation - Room only, while Drumlane Abbey is 40 km away. Ireland West Knock Airport is 78 km from the property.

This environmentally friendly hotel is in the center of Carrick-on-Shannon and is over 200 years old. It has free Wi-Fi, free parking and modern en suite rooms. The Bush Hotel is in County Leitrim, between Dublin and Sligo. It is one of Ireland’s oldest hotels and was once a traveler's inn. The hotel now mixes original character with modern style. There are open fires, quiet gardens and secure parking. The rooms have private bathrooms, modern TVs, tea/coffee, telephones and hairdryers. Each room has a work desk and bottled mineral water, stationary and newspapers are free. The Bush Hotel has a restaurant, a coffee shop/carvery and a bistro-style menu is available in the bar in the evenings.

Aer Lingus has direct flights that fly to Dublin and Shannon Airport. Dublin Airport is located in County Dublin which is about a 1 hour and 45 minute drive from Lough Rynn. Shannon Airport is located in County Clare which is about a 2 hour and 30 minute drive from Lough Rynn. Dublin is the Capital of Ireland and has a bunch of fun things to do! We highly advise keeping an eye out on flights starting in September of 2025 - August of 2026 as the prices can vary. You can also download the Hopper App which predicts when prices might lower. Both Airports have busses and car rental's that take you to County Leitrim which I have added sections on below!

Developed to preserve the rich energy heritage of the Arigna Valley, this thought-provoking museum provides visitors with a unique insight into what coal mining life was like for the locals from its beginning in the 1700s, until its closure in 1990.
